Cantairí Chonamara Choir is very grateful to the Clifden Arts Festival who have been generous sponsors over many years, enabling the choir to stage high quality and inventive productions as part of the annual Arts Festival.
We have often worked in collaboration of The Galway Tribal Choir, under the direction of Dr Mark Keane, and have sung with them in Clifden and Galway City, and further afield, including the Dingle Arts Festival in 2017.
We would also like to thank the local St Vincent de Paul shop and their many volunteers for assisting us in recent productions, with costumes, props and selling programmes.
We are also delighted to assist in community events and fundraising activities and would like to thank SuperValu and Lidl for opportunities to sing carols at Christmas, which supports local charities such as St Vincent de Paul and Help the Homeless. We regularly support the Christmas ‘Help the Homeless’ event in Foyles Hotel.
Galway2020 Small Towns Big Ideas has generously supported the choir in running a weekend of arts events in early November 2019. This funding has enabled us to commission a new piece of music written especially for this event, and to stage an exhibition of work by 30 artists inspired by the Connemara landscape.
